E3 Specualtions

A lot has been going on in the video games industry as of late. We have Konami and their issues. Along with many other companies trying to get their games seen and played. With things like Steam Greenlight and Kickstarter there are a bunch of awesome games that are being worked on. Some of them will be amazing. Some of them will be...well Hatred....

That being said though. I have a few predictions for E3 this year. I also have a few things to say about Bethesda in general. So with no more time to waste and E3 being so soon. Here we go!

First off. I want to talk about Bethesda and Fallout 4. Why Bethesda, why.... Why would you release a trailer for a game as big as Fallout 4 before the biggest video game convention? Why would you Show screen shots and (what I believe to be a full trailer for the game) weeks before E3. Now let me take a step back here and look at the possible reasons for this.

Yes, you can get gamers amped for the game. Hype is a very powerful train to be on. Yet with the small teaser trailers for Doom 4. I have to say the reason why the Fallout 4 trailer was released in order to cut down on the games that are being shown by Bethesda at E3. If they have been working on Fallout 4 for a while why not release a trailer before E3 and play the same one, plus have a bit of game play of the game. In order to keep the hype train going for Fallout 4.

While still pushing Doom4 with a new full Trailer, and game play. These things make sense from a marketing stand point. Yet from a gamer stand point. What else can they really show us about Fallout 4 that we haven't seen by now. Yes I know there are many speculations about safe houses and having places to put your gear. Yet is that the only real upgrade in this game besides voice acting.....?

Onward to the Space Sim!!!

Okay three games here that have been talked about by me and a lot of people in the industry. Star Citizen, Elite Dangerous (which is already out, possible expansion or something), and No Man's Sky.

Star Citizen: I know Star Citizen won't have a release till possibly late this year early next, but it is so much fun to speculate about this game. I mean hell look at it for god sakes. It's so prettttyyyyy. (It's so fluffy quote. Sorry had to) The game itself looks beautiful. It looks to capture every Star Trek, Star Wars, StarGate, Babylon5, and many other sci-fi fans in its icy cold grip of space. There is so much going for this game. From the Dev's to the comunity around it.

That being said though. I believe that in order to stay relevent in this game market. Star Citizen will have to be on the show room floor with something new. Something they haven't shown us before. Enough with the videos. I want to see game play of characters landing on a planet, and getting into a fight then blasting off the planet and being chased by the police of the planet. I want to see the proffesions at work here. I want to see the fps module running at top graphics and I want to see the ships actually flying in some sort of persistant universe/ game universe for the first time without some form of trailer/ movie esk scene. What would you like to see?

Elite Dangerous: It has been out for a while now, but I know there is a lot of stuff that Frontier Developments has been working on. I have heard so many rumors about being able to get off your ship and walk around the space stations. I want to see this happen. It would be amazing. I want to see what the Dev's really want to do with this game. Not just in competion of Star Citizen. I don't want a copycat. I want two different games that go for two different types of gamers. I know that Elite is kind of a travel game. Which does get kinda tedious but it is still hella fun to play. I love how pretty it is. I guess I want to see more fleshed out plans for this game

No Man's Sky: This game has so much potential. This game can be the bridge between the other two games. With Star Citizen being the hardcore game. Elite being the moderatly hard and No Man's Sky being the easiest of the three. I also by no means mean that this game will be a piece of cake. I want this game to be the easiest of the three to get into. I want to be able to hop on my computer and play for an hour or so then be able to go do something else.

I would suspect that there would be a new trailer, game play footage, and possibly have it being playable on the showroom floor.

No, I am not some Industry guru. No, I don't have inside knowledge. These are just my spectulations. For a few companies that I believe should be taking part in E3. Now there is a chance that none of these Dev's will be there. Yet if my gut is telling me the truth, these Dev's will be there with a lot of big news that will blow our minds.
