We lived in a little town northeast of Redding, California. It was a small little town that really didn't have much beyond a few stores and a couple restaurants. My family was always kinda broke. Yet every Christmas we would have saved up enough money to make a trip down to my grandparents. I was always blown away at what my grandparents had.
They had lived full lives and were better off than I could have ever imagined. ( Or so it seemed to my 5, and 6 year old self) Looking back I realized something. My grandparents weren't rich, they weren't given a whole lot of money randomly. They had to work for it. They worked their asses off for what they had.
Which kinda ended up rubbing off on me. Yet, I always saw it one way. Work at a job for a long time and get money. Seeing from my parents perspective. It was work at a job you hate, just to make ends meet and still be broke. I figured there had to be something else going on.
After a while I started to figure out that it wasn't that my grandparents ( at least on my fathers side) weren't working. My grandmother worked all the time. It wasn't until I was about 6 that I heard she worked for something called Amway.
Now during the early 90's Amway had this awesome kids toothpaste that tasted like bubble gum. She got it for us every time we went down to see her. Which was about once a year, but I loved it. The taste made me want to brush my teeth, and as a kid you never want to brush your teeth.
I didn't hear about Amway again until 2015 I had a friend of mine try to get me involved in it. They game be a book written by Robert Kiyosaki the title was The business school. I read the book and learned about multi-level marketing. I was totally all for it. Before you freak out and say I am a multi-level marketing zealot. I had a ton of issues. They didn't tell me what the company name was for the first three meetings. After they made me read the book, and got me interested. Hook line and sinker right. Well not so much in my case. I personally couldn't get past how secretive they were being.
I jokingly asked during our second meeting "What cult am I joining" They both kinda laughed it off, but it really felt like I was joining a cult. Weird from them both. Just left a bad taste in my mouth. Then they showed me the products. Which seemed to be lacking in the tech department from what they kept talking about. Like they knew something no one else did.
I mulled it over for a while and I had, had enough with the smoken mirrors and not getting the answers I wanted. If I am going to either work for the company or sell a product I want to know who I am working for. Along with what I am selling.
So, a few months pass and my wife (then my fiancee) starts to talk about this thing called It Works. I think nothing of it. She tried a wrap and left it at that for a while. A few more months go by and she is still talking about it.
So, what do I do. I do what every fiancee who isn't really paying attention does. I Googled it. I find out it is an other Multi-level marketing company. I have my qualms, but I couldn't see any harm in it. So I let her join and become a distributor.
Next thing I know I am trying all these products. Specifically Greens and Fat Fighters. So here I am making this weird green drink every morning., for her and I. A few more months pass, and she gets me to sign up as a distributor as well.
Prior to this I have worked the same fast food job for almost a decade.I also had been smoking for 10 years.
Here I am today, saying I may have not done everything right. I may have went lax on promoting the products, but I haven't had a cigarette in two months now. No, withdrawals, headaches, mood swings. Or any adverse side effects from quitting.
Now as a person who was a smoker for a decade, I have to say. I haven't felt this good since before I started smoking. Yeah I still hack stuff up every now and then, but I haven't had any chest pain or breathing issues since I quite.
I can hear it now. You are just saying all this to get us to buy your expensive product. To be honest, I kind of am trying to get you to try the product. Not because of the money. No, I want you to try the product or products to see if they work for you. The way they worked for me. You see different things work for different people.
I want you to try our products because I want you to be healthier. I want you to fell better.
My wife and I got into an argument about me not promoting the products and what they did for me. I have to stand corrected. These products have done more for me than I have for them. So, I can't sit here anymore and not promote them. My story is a story of success over addiction. Something that tormented me for a decade.
So this is me saying try It Works. I know it will work for you, in some way shape or form.
