What happened in the gaming industry in April

  Well, ladies and gentlemen. We have seen a lot happen within the gaming industry in April. I believe this will need a recap to say the least.

 This months' games launches:

 1. Grand Theft Auto for the PC (April 14th)
 2. Mortal Kombat X released (April 14th)
 3. Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin released (April 3rd)
 These are just some of the great games that have come out this month.

We also saw the launch of a few new trailers. Such as, The Witcher 3, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Call of Duty Black Ops 3, along with Star Wars Battlefront.

 Yet, that being said. There are many other things that have happened this month as well that really didn't help the industry at all.

- Hideo Kojima left Konami
- Konami cancelled Silent Hills
- Konami removes itself from the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange)


Major corporations like Konami, were having issues with loosing some of the best minds that have ever touched gaming. It seems that companies are perfectly fine with pumping out the same titles over and over again.  For example, the Metal Gear Series, or Call of Duty. Now I am a big fan of both these franchises. Yet that is what they are... franchises. It's getting to be like having a McDonald's on every corner now.

 As a gamer I understand that the companies need to make money, yet, if everything is a clone of the last game, or if everything is just, well the same shooting and grind that the last game was, what is the point? With just better graphics or some new movement ability, (ExoSuits) or the ability to play the single player with your friends...this isn't 2007 people. Halo has been doing this for a long time. How is this new? How is this helping the gaming community make progress?

To me, it just seems like every shooter is the same clone of the original version of the game with a predictable plot and the same repetitive game play. Go here, shoot this guy, survive this many waves of bad guys to get extracted. You know the drill.

 I love FPS's as much as the next guy, but how can I say that augmenting the player character to have an ExoSuit or be half cyborg is new? It is just a rehash of some other game that couldn't do what this game or that game can. This is due to the tech on the newer consoles, and PC's. 

 In my latest video on YouTube I talked about video games and trans-humanism. It seems to me that video games are pushing this idea. in a way, by all the augmented player characters. Along with all the NPC's (Non-Player Characters). It is as if the gaming industry sees this as a way to either talk about, or show the hazards of this idea and its eventual growth within society.

 So, since games like Deus Ex Human Revolution, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, Call of Duty Black Ops 3, Call of Duty Advanced Warfare are more prevelent, the are showing how humans can become machines. They also seem to be promoting trans-humanism. 

 That isn't to say that I am for or against this idea. Yet, when the gaming industry is showing, talking about, and trying to make people think about things, it makes you wonder. Are we really human if we sit in front of a console playing these games day in and day out? Are we the man or are we the machine?

 Then, we have several movies that will be coming out in the next few months. These movies ask what does it mean to be human. Along with, what is humanity worth?

Terminator Genisys
Along with a few others.

 Then there is also Ex Machina, Automata, and Transcendence as well.

 It seems that the gaming industry, and Hollywood, know something that we don't. Or it is just something that everyone fears happening... I have no idea, but let that sink in for a while. Why would Hollywood and the gaming industry be promoting Artificial Intelligence, robots, and transhumanism all at the same time?

My personal Epic Quest

 So, to start things off. Within the last few months I have given myself the most epic quest I could possibly think of. As a gamer this quest is something that is near and dear to me. As I have stated before, I never really got to play very many games as a child. Considering my family was so poor. I was only able to play video games at my friends houses. Who had consoles.
  Well within the past few months I have given myself the quest to collect all the consoles that I have played games on. I am lucky to have some money here and there that I save. I also joined a few local groups on FaceBook where people sell things. I am also very lucky that my fiancee is very supportive of this, and even willing to play some old school games with me.
 So far I have gotten an NES, SNES, Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, N64, and an original Playstation. My fiancee owns a Nintendo Wii, so that console was already marked off my list. I honestly never thought I would even have these consoles. Considering how hard some of them are to find.
 Now all that being said. Not only am I collecting all the consoles I have played on. I am also doing the best I can to collect all the games that I grew up playing. Along with ones I never got to play.
I am also very lucky to have a guy in my area who sells consoles regularly who has kind of become my console and video game dealer. He is awesome, he asks what I am looking for and keeps his eyes out. I have bought all the Nintendo consoles and the Playstation from him.
 I know I have a long way to go still. Since I am not even close to getting the games I want to get. Yet on the console side I am doing amazing. Not many people could really understand what these things really mean to me. Considering my childhood, most of it wasn't very good. Yet the parts that I remember the best were of playing games. I understand that these games, and consoles are a part of history. Yet they are more than that to me. They are a part of my history, they remind me of better times when I could save the princess, or defend the planet. I lost myself in games years ago and here I am trying to find myself so to speak
 I know that this will be a very hard road to travel, but I also know that I will stick with this till the day I die, or respawn. Gaming is part of who I am. It always has been and always will be. From the original Mario, to Star Citizen. I am a Gamer.

Star Wars

 Over the past thirty-eight years the Star Wars saga has touched millions. The story of good verses evil. Is a story that we all can relate to. Along with the story of a young man or woman. Trying to find their own way in the world as they grow into adulthood. This saga has started many things. From cartoons, to video games, comics, books, and any other form of media or entertainment that you can think of.  Up to and including a religion.

 I grew up with Star Wars being part of my life. I remember the first time I saw it. I was maybe four or five. It captivated me with the idea of the force and Jedi. The ability to use my mind to do things like telekinesis. Or fighting with beam swords.(Lightsabers) I watched the movies over and over again till I could quote every line. I was obsessed you might say. Yet as a grew up I began to collect Star Wars memorabilia. To this day I have a bunch of Star Wars stuff in my house. ( Thank god my fiancee doesn't have an issue with me being a nerd and collector of things.

 I never really knew that a story this basic could reach masses like this. I was a child that just wanted to be a Jedi and fight the Sith. Over the years and the video games. I have found myself being more of a Sith than a Jedi, but living in this universe is something that always touched me as if it was like coming home after a long journey.

 I delved into the Jedi Apprentice series after Episode one came out. I devoured games such as Jedi: Outcast, Jedi Apprentice, and of course one must not ever forget Knights of the Old Republic. Later to be made into an MMO that disappointed many of its fans.

I would stray from these games over time. I would forget about them. Yet for some reason I would always return to them. Just like I do with the original movies. (Not the CG enhanced versions...But the real ones) These books, movies, games, toys, and everything else. That have spawned from the idea of Star Wars. Have touched us all.

I may just be a 27 year old, who just has an odd obsession with Star Wars. Yet even if that is so. I know for a fact that Star Wars has influenced my life in more ways than any other TV, or Movie series ever has. As much as I want to see the Sith Empire rule the galaxy. I can't help but root for the good guys when you have such iconic characters such as Han, Luke, Leia, Chewy, C-3PO, and who could forget R2.

 These characters have been on a journey for the past thirty-eight years. The stories these characters could tell. I know that J.J. knew what he was doing with Star Trek, and he is a sci-fi guy. Yet if he and the other writers messes this one up. There will be a backlash the likes of which the world has never seen.

I know I wasn't around to see the originals in theater. ( I did see the edited ones in theater along with the new prequels) Yet I feel that I have some sort of connection to these characters. I grew up with them as did many of you out there. The other thing that I am a bit leery of is the fact that the new generation of Star Wars fans. (Those that like the prequels better than the originals) May end up not even understanding what is going on and why these old people are playing these characters.

 There has been a lot of stipulation as to what is actually going on. So that being said. I am going to say a few things about what I believe is going on.

 After the fall of the Empire in the Return of the Jedi. (From what I have heard this movie takes place 38 years after Return of the Jedi) Luke goes into some form of hiding/ extreme training. I would also assume that the lines that are quoted from Return of the Jedi he would be speaking to his own child or one of Leia's. ( That being said, I really doubt it is one of his kids. Conslidering.... NO Luke Girlie Friend Named on IMDB or hot redhead... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2488496/fullcredits?ref_=tt_cl_sm#cast)

 So I would assume it is one of Leia's children, or some one very close to him. Maybe someone he has been training in his self imposed exile. The fact that the remnents of the Empire are trying to regain control of the galaxy seems to prove that Kylo Ren is leading it. (Unless its Palpatine again... God no please no more clones....)  I heard someone talking about how Kylo was looking for Sith Artifacts. Honestly, I doubt that. yet it seems that someone has Vaders, mask. ( Oh also on a side note. Vader is totally alive as a force ghost as proved to us by the end of Jedi) So that being said when he says his father has it. He is speak as if his father is alive, because he is... As a force ghost. Yeah that's not creepy at all. ( Luke: in self imposed exile.
                              Vader: (says in creepy Vader mask voice) Hey, Luke what you doing here!
                               Luke: Force jumps 20 feet away and screams like a girl.
                               Vader: Laughs))

Also where the hell is Qui-Gon? Isn't he a ghost too? Isn't he the one who figured out how to ghost in the first place. The third movie said he was talking to Yoda... Also why is it that the prequels totally destroyed the original movies. If this movie destroys everything else. I think I will go all Sith on Disney's ass. Okay now that all is said...

 I know this has been a very long post and I hope you all made it through this one alive. If not you might have either been cut in half by a lightsaber. In that case we can give you random mechanical legs that are way to big... ( I am looking at you Clone Wars...) If you just got stabbed well maybe you can be a force ghost too. Public Service Announcement

    Hello, everyone. My name is Jeremiah. Some of you may know me as Uriel Locke from my YouTube channel, FaceBook page, or even this blog. I have been an avid gamer since I was in high school. I also have considered myself a gamer even before that. I have played more games than I could ever count. I have wanted to be more than just a gamer for a long time now. I am doing everything I can to make this happen.

 I apologize, for not posting any blogs recently. I have been having a lot going on in my life. Which isn't a good enough excuse for me not to, do what I have set out to do. I recently have been let go by Machinima. I hold no ill will towards them at all. This gives me the ability to do what I need to do as a content creator and as an aspiring game reviewer. I will be reaching higher than ever before. I refuse to fail. I am back with a vengeance. Ladies and Gentlemen Uriel Locke is back and I am going to do what ever it takes to do what I need to do.

 I am starting this new idea, this new beginning. I will do what ever it takes to turn this into an empire. The community I will help shape, mold, and build from the ground up will be one of the biggest the likes of which the Internet has never seen. 

 I will be messing with the branding of my channel on YouTube a bit due to the fact that Empyre is kind of taken by a clothing company.

 Everything being said there. I, Uriel Locke am back and it is our time to shine brighter than the sun. We will create an empire and we will rule the gaming world with an iron fist.
